I've spent my career starting companies from scratch, growing them through good stretches and tough ones, and figuring out what keeps a business standing over time. Those lessons shape how I approach every investment under Orange Octopus.
I started Big Footprint in 2009 as a search-focused digital marketing agency and ran it for sixteen years before Fusion92 acquired it in December 2022. That run taught me the agency business top to bottom: pricing, talent, retention, M&A, and the daily discipline it takes to deliver real results for clients over the long haul.
Today I split my time between operating roles, advising agency owners, and putting capital into asset classes I know well. I do marketing consulting and run AgencySpeak, a coaching practice for agency owners working through growth and exits. I also launched Current & Stone Capital, a land investment platform focused on premium river frontage in the Rocky Mountain West.
Beyond those active ventures, Orange Octopus is the holding entity for a portfolio that includes commercial real estate, sporting properties, venture fund commitments, direct startup investments, and operating businesses I've co-founded or exited. What ties it together is a preference for assets and teams with a real edge, whether that's a piece of land you can't replicate, a strong distribution channel, or a founder who deeply understands their market.
Orange Octopus organizes a diversified portfolio across four pillars. Each one calls on a different skill set, whether that's operating, investing, advising, or stewarding. They all share the same discipline: careful diligence, long time horizons, and capital put to work where I have a real edge.
The category I know best. After founding and exiting Big Footprint, I now hold a shareholder position in Fusion92 and run AgencySpeak, a consulting and coaching firm that helps agency owners build profitable, sellable businesses. I work with founders on growth strategy, operational discipline, and getting ready for acquisition.
A growing share of the portfolio sits in real estate, anchored by Current & Stone Capital, a platform acquiring premium riverfront land on legendary fly fisheries in the Rocky Mountain West. Rounded out with a Valvoline-leased commercial asset in Texas and an LP position in the Gart Stabilized Asset Fund.
I back early-stage technology and marketplace companies through both fund commitments and direct positions. LP in Range Ventures and Yonder Fund, with SPV co-investments in MagicSchool AI (EdTech) and Suite Studios (workspace). I also serve as an investor and advisor to HitchPin, an agriculture marketplace platform.
Operating experience is the foundation everything else is built on. Big Footprint (2009-2022, acquired by Fusion92), ShaveMOB (2013-2023, subscription DTC men's grooming), and DripJoy Coffee (2016-2018) each taught a different lesson about building, scaling, and knowing when a chapter is finished. On the acquisition side, I purchased H Street Homes in 2024, a real estate holding company in downtown Livingston, Montana focused on rezoning park-adjacent lots for denser development. In 2026 I acquired Six Meadows Ranch, a luxury fly fishing and sporting property in Montana's Boulder River Valley.
